Exciting topics and themes at Nansloe Academy

At Nansloe Academy, we aim to inspire children by making learning exciting, real and relevant. Trips out, visitors to school and "Wow" days are  a regular feature of our curriculum.  We also aim to develop children's key learning skills such as independence, questioning and perseverance, by helping children see the real-life applications of what they are learning.

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) at Nansloe Academy

At Nansloe Academy we believe that our primary function as a school is to prepare children for life, through learning but also through becoming active and independent members of society who are willing to make a contribution and aware of the impact of their decisions on themselves and others. 

 

Consequently we believe that it is our duty to equip children with skills, strategies, attitudes and knowledge which will enable them to access and benefit from new learning at every stage of their lives, as well as to develop and maintain healthy relationships with others and adopt healthy lifestyles.   This is reflected in our belief that an awareness and understanding of Nansloe Academy’s Learning Powers- ReadinessResourcefulnessResilienceResponsibilityReflectivenessRelationships - should be at the core of our ethos and provision.  The powers not only support learning, but also our ability to be active participants in society both now and in the future.
