Message from Mrs Richards.
I hope you are all well and have had a lovely weekend.
As we have some children in the Nursery that are isolating at the moment I thought I would post some more home learning for this week. Feel free to have a go if you would like and don't forget to pop some photos on Tapestry for me to see.
Have a great week and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Week beginning 28/6/21 - Last week we were learning about Little Red Riding Hood so, if you missed these activities enjoy watching the story together and have a think about the story plot. Can your child predict what might happen at the end? Who are the main characters? Where is the story set? Once you have watched it through a couple of times have a go at the story sequencing and try some of the other associated activities if you would like.
Week beginning 5/7/21 - This week we will be learning about the 3 little pigs. Again, watch the story together, and if you have a copy at home perhaps read it to your child and talk about the differences between the two versions. After that consider the same questions as last week. Once you have done this have a go at the cut and stick story sequencing sheet, encouraging your child to retell the story in their own words whilst sticking the pictures in the story map. This can then be used to help your child continue retelling the story.
For numeracy this week have a go at taking it in turns to roll a dice, and using any construction that you have at home such as building blocks/duplo/stacking cups etc select the number of bricks that the dice lands on to build a tower. Who can build the highest tower before it topples over?
Week beginning 11/7/21 - Watch the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Encourage the children to join in with repeated refrains in the story. Talk to the children about the behaviour of the goats and the troll. Encourage them to talk about how the troll treated the goats and how he could have behaved differently. Ask the children to think about times when something went wrong because of their actions or the actions of others. Explain that when you do good things, it makes you feel good inside, but when you make bad choices, it makes you feel sad. Invite the children to talk about and explain how they could have behaved differently in the story. Can the children make up a new, kinder ending to the story?
For numeracy this week ask the children to use a dice to roll a number. Then ask them to identify the number and select that many building blocks/ duplo etc to build their own bridge.
I have also posted a wake and shake and a funky fingers video together with some craft activities for your child to have a go at should they become a little restless.
